Motor Vehicle Accident Injuries
Motor vehicle accidents can cause injuries in many areas of the body, including your back and neck. Physical therapy can help return you to your normal activities after an accident, including strengthening and stretching exercises. It can also help you manage the effects of your injuries, including chronic pain.
Specific physical therapy treatments focus on decreasing pain and muscle spasms around the affected area (back and/or neck), improving their strength and endurance by conditioning and stretching certain muscles (including deep core abdominal muscles), increasing flexibility, correcting any postural imbalances to take pressure off the affected muscles, and improving the function of daily activities.
We help with the following:
- Exercises to increase flexibility in certain areas to decrease the pressure on specific tissues around bones, joints, or nerve roots
- Improvement in posture to take pressure off the back/neck
- Manual therapies
- Modalities including heat, ice, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
- Patient education regarding activities, posture, and biomechanics
Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC helped me regain the strength in my ankles and feet to keep me walking and continue to exercise and golf. The staff are all well skilled, pleasant, and supportive. I would highly recommend them to my friends for PT. They are a great group!
