Frequently Asked Questions

This section answers some frequently asked questions about Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC, treatment options, insurance, and referrals.

How Do I Set Up an Appointment?

Appointments with any Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC Clinic can be made on our website or by calling 855-459-5000. We will need to know your name, phone number, health insurance, and the condition for which you seek treatment.

This information allows us to schedule a timely appointment with the clinician best suited to treat you. People with injuries and conditions that require emergency physical therapy are seen immediately.

Do I Need a Referral from My Doctor?

The majority of insurance plans do not require a referral, but some do (e.g., if you have Blue Cross and Blue Shield HMO Blue, a referral from your primary care physician is required). We ask that you check to verify what your health insurance plan requires prior to your initial visit.

How Much Does My Insurance Cover?

It depends on your insurance plan. Some insurance plans require a co-payment at the time of visit, while others require clients to pay a percentage or deductible. Most work-related and auto-related injuries are fully covered. It is recommended that you check with your insurance company to determine your coverage prior to your initial visit.

Will Physical Therapy Hurt?

Physical therapy programs are not designed to inflict pain. It is common, however, to experience some discomfort and muscle soreness while receiving treatments, performing exercises, or on the day after treatment. But slight muscle soreness is a positive indication that your body is responding to your therapy. Your symptoms will be monitored to ensure that you receive the best and most comfortable care possible.

Why Physical Therapy at Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC?

Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC provides individually designed treatment tailored for each client’s unique needs. Our team is committed to helping our clients achieve their goals and improve their overall well being. Our goal is to enable our clients to regain function, control their pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

How Long Will I Need Physical Therapy?

Length of treatment depends on the individual and the type and severity of the injury. Physical therapy treatment can range from two weeks to many months of intensive therapy. Even when the pain has been eliminated, it is critical to continue the prescribed exercise program to prevent future injury or relapse.

What Can I Expect at My First Visit?

Prior to beginning treatment, we will perform a comprehensive evaluation that includes the following: a detailed history of your condition or injury; a physical examination; and orthopedic or neurological testing.

We then develop a unique treatment plan consisting of therapeutic exercises, procedures, and hands-on treatments. Physical therapy often begins the day of your initial evaluation, so it is best to wear loose-fitting clothing or gym attire.

The day of your first visit, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to fill out necessary paperwork. You may also complete these forms online prior to your visit.

What is a Physical Therapist?

Physical therapists are highly trained health care professionals who treat musculoskeletal, neurological, and geriatric pathologies. Physical therapists are trained to evaluate injuries and disorders, make clinical physical therapy diagnoses, and provide specific treatments.

Treatments may include exercise, massage, joint mobilization, assisted soft tissue mobilization, or other hands on techniques as well as specific physical therapy modalities. Most physical therapists have advanced degrees and are critical members of your health care team.

I am so happy we chose Greendale PT, LLC. My daughter could not move her arm after a broken elbow that resulted in surgery. The staff was wonderful with her. She can now do anything a normal kid does.
